đŸ–„ïž Taking the brain profile assessment

These frequently asked questions relate to taking the brain profile assessment

How do I access and complete the brain profile assessment?

You will receive a link via email to complete the assessment either through your prospective employer’s job postings or via a direct email from ploomo.

Accessing the web link will take you to the ploomo sign-up page. From here,

  1. Enter your email address and you’ll be emailed your verified unique link.

  2. Look out for your unique link in your inbox (check junk/spam), and click on it to start

  3. Complete the assessment

What are some tips for a successful experience?
  • Allow yourself enough time (about 20 minutes) to complete the assessment – find a place where you will not be distracted.

  • Feel free to take your time, there is no time restriction and there are no right or wrong answers.

  • Answer based on what’s true to yourself without overthinking. Your first response is typically the most accurate.

In case you get disconnected or lose the page, your responses are automatically saved on your device and browser.  All you need to do is just visit your unique link first emailed to you using the same device and browser, agree to the privacy statement, and make sure to click on the ‘Resume’ button.

I haven't received the verification link?

If you have submitted your email address on ploomo and seen the confirmation your unique link has been emailed, try the following:

  • Wait for about 5 minutes for your unique link to reach your email inbox

  • Check your junk or spam folder, just in case

  • Search manually for an email from contact@ploomo.io

I want to change or review my answers?

When answering the questions, you can click on the ‘Back’ button to go back and change your response to the questions. To change your personal details, complete the assessment first. You’ll then able to access the “My Details” section to update your contact information.

Can I leave and come back/I closed by browser by accident?

Your progress is automatically saved on your device and browser, so you will be able to return and continue from where you left off.

Just visit the link emailed to you and click on the ‘Resume’ button.

How many questions do I have to answer? And what type?

You will first be asked to provide a few standard personal details, which are mandatory (such as name and country). The other demographic questions (at the end of the assessment) are optional, but we recommend that you answer these as well, as it helps us to measure adverse impact and keep ploomo unbiased and fair to all groups.

You will be asked to respond to ~120 short statements about yourself, which are about your personal style and preferences. This isn’t an ability test, so there are no right or wrong answers – everyone responds differently. All you have to do is decide how accurately the questions describe you.

What can I expect after I have submitted my answers?

You’ll have received a login email to an account on the ploomo candidate portal. You will be able to use this account to view and manage your contact details, and keep your information up-to-date as well as access and share your brain profile results.

From there, your prospective employer will handle your application, and it is up to them to get in touch with you.

🧠 About your profile

These frequently asked questions relate to your results from the brain profile assessment

I want to understand how my archetype is determined

ploomo’s research and methodology can provide you with a full understanding.

Can I have more than one archetype?

After our analyses and computations, you are assigned only one primary archetype. This does not preclude the possibility that you are strongly aligned with another archetype.

I am not happy or/and don’t agree with my archetype. Can I complete the survey again?

Upon request and in agreement with your Manager, it is possible but not advisable to complete the survey again.

What does it mean if I have a low score in a Brain Profile factor?

The factors we use are characteristics that everyone has to different degrees. A low score means that compared to others, you have a lower preference towards this characteristic, and prefer to focus on something else. A high score in a factor means that compared to others, you have a strong preference towards this characteristic, or that you are very comfortable leaning into this natural trait.

📄 About your job application

These frequently asked questions relate to how your results are used in a job application

How is my profile used in my job application?

Certain jobs require certain types of people (Sales might require competitive, extroversion; Accountant might require analytical etc). Your brain profile and archetype may be used in a job application to compare to the role profile you are applying for to see if you would be a good fit for that specific role.

What if my archetype is different the role I am applying for?

There is generally more than one archetype that is suitable for a particular role; there are many factors that make up an archetype. While there will be an archetype best suited for a particular role, that does not mean other archetypes would not be good fits.

Can I withdraw once I’ve shared my profile?

Once you have shared your brain profile results with an organisation, you cannot unshare the results. However, withdrawing from a prospective role can be handled directly with that prospective employer.

These frequently asked questions relate to how your results are used at your organisation.

How results are used to build connections with others

My archetype is different to my managers, what does that mean?

All it means is that you have different preferences from that of your manager. This can be beneficial in many ways where you balance each other out and may present challenges in other ways where you don’t see eye to eye as quickly.

Why are we doing Live Alignment?

Your Company wants to enhance your workplace experience. This tool aims to gather meaningful data to ensure decisions that affect you are understood and actioned.

Are my responses anonymous?

Individual answers are transposed into themes shared with managers and HR. Although individual responses aren't directly accessible, themes derived from your answers are not anonymous.

What is my data used for?

The data primarily aids in understanding employee sentiment and experiences. It is primarily used to prompt leaders to have conversations with their team members when appropriate. It also provides valuable insights to your Company, allowing HR and leadership to make impactful decisions, policy modifications, and introduce new initiatives.

What will my organisation do with the survey results?

ploomo presents insights and recommendations to managers and HR. This facilitates actionable changes to boost overall engagement, refine roles, and optimize team design.

Do I have to participate?

Participation is highly encouraged by your P&C team. To help your managers better understand and improve your work experience, regular feedback is recommended.

Do we all get the same questions?

Initially, there might be a common schedule. However, as employees take leave or other breaks, their schedules might differ.

I work part-time; will I still get a question every day?

Part-time employees can get in touch with us to create a suitable schedule.

What if I miss a question?

Questions can be answered up to 7 days retrospectively, or you can skip and proceed with the next one.

Is the survey a reflection on my manager?

This survey isn't a performance appraisal. While there are questions about managers, they're part of a broader set that explores feelings about work, the work environment, senior leadership, and the organisation as a whole.

Are the reflection themes customizable?

Theme customisation is on our product's roadmap but isn't available currently. We welcome feedback on desired themes.
