General Information for Managers

🧠 Using brain profiling to understand yourself, and your team

Everyone has preferences about the way they live and work.

We believe that people can be characterised by their preferences to gain meaningful insights into the unique ways they perform, process and think. We call these different ways of thinking "archetypes".

By understanding archetypes, you can learn a lot about behaviour and predict how team members might react in certain situations.

It is important to understand that scores across cateogies does not mean someone is “good” or “bad” within that area. Instead, scores indicate the strength of their preference for that area.

📄 Using brain profiling for recruitment

Predictive Placement: combines ploomo’s brain profiling and role profiling to provide hiring managers and HR the technology to make data-driven hiring decisions, by placing people in roles who are predicted to be best suited and successful in a specific role for your organisation.

First, we profile the role

Through ploomo’s Role Profiling assessment, hiring managers will identify what characteristics are critical to the role, supporting alignment on key recruitment metrics specific to the role. This helps to ensure the team is aligned in selecting an individual who is well aligned with the role’s requirements, leading to a higher likelihood for the successful applicant to be engaged in the role.

Second, we profile prospective candidates

Through the ploomo Talent Portal, hiring managers can easily submit requests to prospective candidates to complete the ploomo Brain Profiling assessment. The results of the brain profile assessment are available directly from the portal as soon as the candidate has completed it.

Finally, we put it together

ploomo uses both the candidate's assessment results and the roles profile to identify how well a candidate’s brain profile aligns with the role requirements, highlighting potential sources of challenges and areas they may be well aligned. The most suitable archetypes for a role are identified based on the factors underlying the archetype results, such as resilience, and communication style, and how these align to the requirements of the role.

👥 Using brain profiling for current employees

The application of your team members' brain profile results is not limited to recruitment! In fact, it provides valuable information to be used along each step of the employee lifecycle. By identifying each team member's unique archetype, you can gain insights into their natural preferences, behaviors, and ways of thinking. This information can help you tailor their work experience to their strengths and interests, and predict how they might react in certain situations. By understanding their preferences, ploomo can help you and your team better communicate and interact with each other, and help each team member apply themselves to work and tasks in a way that suits them best.

To build connection

The insights gained through the assessments can help you build stronger connections with your team members. By gaining a deeper understanding of their unique brain profiles, you can support their development and foster an environment that is tailored to them. This can lead to more effective communication and collaboration, and a more positive and supportive work environment overall.

To promote engagement

By using ploomo's solution, you can help ensure that each team member is the right fit for their current role and environment. By tailoring the work experience to your team members' strengths and preferences, they will feel more engaged and connected to their work and colleagues. This, in addition to regular micro-data collection that assess how team members are feeling at particular points in time, ensures that action is taken to improve critical factors that promote engagement and retention in the workplace.

To develop leadership skills

One way ploomo's solution helps develop leadership skills is by identifying a person's communication style. Effective communication is a crucial aspect of leadership, and by understanding how a person naturally communicates, we can help them develop strategies to communicate more clearly and effectively with their team.

Additionally, ploomo's solution helps identify a person's decision-making style. Effective leaders need to make informed decisions that are in the best interest of their team and the organization as a whole. By understanding how a person naturally makes decisions, we can help them develop strategies to make more effective decisions that take into account all relevant factors.

Finally, ploomo's solution helps identify a person's preferences in areas such as adaptability, resilience, and self-discipline. These are all important skills for effective leaders, and by developing strategies to improve self-awareness in these areas, a person can become a more effective leader.

How?

The details of the program:

Employee engagement doesn’t just correlate with great organisations, it can create them. ploomo’s approach to elevating team connection and engagement consists of three elements:

Profiling process

We use tools like:

  • psychometric testing;

  • role design profiling; and

  • team profiling

to get a preliminary understanding of team member preferences. Preferences, dynamics and potential points of frustration are surfaced in a Profile Report.

Live Alignment surveys

  • We use ongoing, low-touch surveys to monitor engagement levels.

  • Survey results are combined with the profiling information to understand underlying dynamics and identify potential points of friction.

Organisation insights

All of the profiling and live alignment information come together in our ploomo portal, where you can get insights on organisation, team, or individual level. This supports you in finding the most effective and efficient paths to elevate your people.
